Bangladesh cricket team has grown up over the years. They have improved a lot in terms of match-winning ability and have won so many games and series over the years. Especially in the white ball format. Over the last few years, we have seen a few youngsters coming into Bangladesh cricket setup and have done well as well. Today, we will talk about two of the youngsters from the Bangladesh cricket team, Tanzid Hasan and Mohammad Naim, who are also a part of the Asia Cup 2023.

The Bangladesh Cricket Team has done so well over the years. There are some experienced players like Shakib ul Hasan, M Rahim, Mahmudullah, Tamim Iqbal, M Mortaza, etc who played for Bangladesh cricket over the years and are still playing.
Particularly in white ball cricket, and more particularly in ODIs, they are one of the better sides in world cricket right now. Both, Tanzid Hasan and Mohammad Naim are in very good form recently. They have done well in the recently concluded ACC Emerging Asia Cup 2023.
With the hunt of getting new players into the team, Bangladesh cricket team selectors are banking on these two youngsters.

Tanzid Hasan’s record:-
First-class cricket
Tanzid Hasan has played 18 first-class games and scored 1350 runs at an average of 43.54. He has 3 centuries and 6 half centuries in first-class cricket.
List A
In List A, he has scored 1271 runs at an average of 28.88 and a strike rate of 82.80. He has 7 half-centuries and 3 centuries in List-A cricket.
T20s
As far as T20 is concerned, he scored 437 runs in 21 games with an average of 24.27 and with a strike rate of 110.63. He has 2 half centuries to his name in T20s with the highest score of 79 not out.
Tanzid Hasan in the ACC Emerging Asia Cup 2023
In the ACC Emerging Asia Cup 2023, he scored 179 runs at an average of 44.75 and a strike rate of almost 117. He has been rewarded a maiden call-up for the Bangladesh cricket team in the Asia Cup 2023.
Bangladesh cricket team’s chief selector Minhajul Abedin also praised Tanzid Hasan. He said – “We are quite confident about Tanzid Hasan. Tanzid has been nursed for a long time in the High-Performance programme. He did well in the Emerging Cup. I am hopeful that he can deliver something for the team.”
Mohammad Naim’s record:-
Naim already has some international cricket experience as well. He made his international debut in the T20I series against India in late 2019. His T20I series was 26, 36, and 81 respectively.
Overall, he has played 35 T20Is and scored 815 runs at an average of almost 24 and with a strike rate of 103.42.
He also played 4 ODIs and a test as well but hasn’t done much in those games.
Naim in the ACC Emerging Asia Cup 2023
In the Emerging Asia Cup, he scored 154 runs in 4 games with an average of 51.33 and a strike rate of 110.
“Naim did well in domestic cricket. He didn’t do that well in the Emerging Cup. But he is in a stable situation. He has a bit of international experience too. That’s why he has been given another chance.” – Abedin on Naim.

Other than Tanzid Hasan and Mohammad Naim, there are a few more youngsters in the Asia Cup 2023 squad. Afif Hossain, Shamim Hossain, and all-rounder Mahedi Hasan get the nod in the team as well.
