1. MS Dhoni
The first name that came in this list is MS Dhoni. MS Dhoni has been the face of IPL cricket over the years. He has played most of his cricket with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise and won 5 titles for them as captain. During the year 2016-17, when CSK was banned, he played for Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS). MS Dhoni will now play in the IPL 2024 as well.
2. Virat Kohli
In IPL 2008, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) signed Virat Kohli after his performances at the U-19 level and domestic. Since then, he has been associated with this franchise. He will now play in IPL 2024 as well under the leadership of Faf du Plessis.
3. Rohit Sharma
The current Indian captain started his IPL career with the Deccan Chargers franchise in IPL 2008. He also won an IPL title with the same franchise in 2009. Then he moved to Mumbai Indians and also becomes the captain in IPL 2013. Since then, he has won 5 titles with MI as captain.
Rohit Sharma will now play in IPL 2024 as a player. MI franchise has decided to make Hardik Pandya their new captain. However, there is no clarity on Pandya’s availability in IPL 2024 due to his ankle injury.
4. Ravichandran Ashwin
The off-spinner started his IPL career with CSK. In the 2016-17 season, he played for RPS before moving to Punjab Kings in 2018. In the IPL 2020-21, he played for Delhi Capitals before Rajasthan Royals bought him in the IPL 2022. He is set to play for RR again in IPL 2024.
5. Ravindra Jadeja
The all-rounder was a part of a title-winning team, RR in IPL 2008. In 2011, he played for Kochi Tuskers Kerala (the franchise doesn’t exist now) before moving to CSK in 2012.
When CSK was banned for 2 years in 2016-17, he played for Gujarat Giants, led by Suresh Raina. When CSK came back in 2018, he was also brought back in by the franchise. He has been a part of CSK since then and will play for the franchise in IPL 2024 as well.
6. Shikhar Dhawan
He is a captain of the Punjab Kings in IPL 2024. The left-handed opener started his IPL career with Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals). He moved to Mumbai Indians and played for two years.
Shikhar played for Deccan Chargers for two years before moving to Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he spent most of his time. Between 2019 to 2021, he played for Delhi Capitals before coming to Punjab Kings in IPL 2022.
7. Piyush Chawla
The leggie has been one of the most experienced campaigners in IPL history. Having started his IPL career with Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings), he is set to play for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024.
8. Amit Mishra
Amit Mishra also switched a few franchises since the IPL 2008. He will play for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2024. The franchise retained him for the upcoming season.
9. Manish Pandey
Manish Pandey was the first Indian batter to score an IPL hundred. Kolkata Knight Riders showed faith in him and he will represent the franchise again in the upcoming IPL season.
10. Dinesh Karthik
At one stage, it looked like his playing days were over. But then he revived his IPL career and has done well for RCB in the last few seasons, playing a finisher’s role.
11. Rishi Dhawan
Rishi Dhawan is also one of the names who has been in the IPL circuit since the inauguration. He will play for the Punjab franchise in the 2024 season.
12. Ajinkya Rahane
The classy right-handed batter also revived his career after CSK showed faith in him. He has played an important role in CSK’s success in IPL 2023. CSK retained him for the IPL 2024 as well.
13. Swapnil Singh
He has been in and out of the IPL since 2008. Swapnil Singh started his IPL career with MI in 2008. He will now play for RCB in IPL 2024.
14. Ishant Sharma
The fast bowler has been an integral part of the Indian team for so many years. He also switched franchises and in 2024, he will play for Delhi Capitals.
15. Wriddhiman Saha
The experienced wicketkeeper batter has started his IPL career with KKR. He will now play for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2024 as the franchise retained him after his performances.
