ICC World Cup 2023 Schedule: ENGLAND vs NEW ZEALAND to kick start the tournament, INDIA vs PAKISTAN on OCT 15
The ICC (International Cricket Council) has announced the ICC World Cup 2023 schedule on June 27. England and New Zealand, the finalists of the last edition of the ICC WC will kick start the tournament on October 05 at Ahmedabad. India-Pakistan will be played on October 15 at Ahmedabad.
At first, the tournament was set to be played in February-March in India. But due to COVID-19, the qualification schedule was disrupted and the tournament was moved to October-November.
Sri Lanka and the Netherlands join the other 8 teams
Netherlands (Q1) and Sri Lanka (Q2) are the two teams who qualified for the ICC World Cup 2023 after finishing in the top 2 spots in the ICC World Cup 2023 Qualifiers in Zimbabwe.

Tournament Format
The ICC World Cup 2023 will be played in Rounb-Robin Format (just like ICC WC 2019). Ten teams will participate in the tournament and play against each other once. The top 4 teams will advance to the semifinals.
10 different venues for the tournament
There will be 10 different venues in India where the ICC World Cup 2023 held. Those venues are Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Dharamsala, Delhi, Chennai, Lucknow, Pune, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Kolkata.
Timings of matches
The day games of the ICC World Cup 2023 will start at 10:30 AM IST. Day-night encounters will start at 2:00 PM IST.
India vs Pakistan on October 15
The biggest rivalry of India-Pakistan will take place on October 15 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. It is one of the most hyped encounters and we will have to see who will come out well in this game. Pakistan hasn’t beaten India in any game of the ICC ODI World Cup till now.
Semifinals and Final details
The first semifinal of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 will be played on November 15 in Mumbai. And the 2nd semifinal will be played on November 16 at Kolkata. Pakistan will not play the semifinal in Mumbai if the scenario happens, citing security concerns. They will then play their semifinal in Kolkata instead.
The final of the marquee tournament will be played on November 19 at Ahmedabad.
