The BPL 2024 has started with 8 games already being played. In this edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Pakistan’s young right-handed batter, Mohammad Haris was set to play for the Chattogram Challengers franchise, but his country’s cricket board (PCB) denied a NOC (No-objection certificate). That means he will not feature in any of the games in the BPL 2024. We will talk about it in detail and give you all the information regarding this. So don’t go anywhere.
Mohammad Haris was a part of the Chattogram franchise
Earlier, Chattogram Challengers signed the 22-year-old for the BPL 2024. But later, he found out that the PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) denied a NOC to participate in the BPL 2024.
The reason behind not an approval of NOC
The PCB hasn’t granted Mohammad Haris an NOC because he played in two overseas tournaments from July 2023 to July 2024. The PCB only allowed their players to play in two overseas T20 tournaments in a certain period. And Mohammad Haris has already played out in those tournaments in that period.
Haris played in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) for B-Love Kandy and in Global T20 Canada for Surrey Jaguars in July-August last year.
Mohammad Haris arrived early in Bangladesh
Mohammad Haris arrived early in the country to prepare for the BPL 2024. Later, he discovered that the PCB had not given the NOC.
Mohammad Haris thanked the franchise and the BCB for this opportunity
Mohammad Haris thanked the Chattogram Challengers team management and the BCB (Bangladesh Cricket Board) for this opportunity. Also, he said it was unfortunate not to play in this year’s BPL and will hopefully join the team next year.
He said – “Thank you, Chattogram team management and the BCB for taking care of me and giving me this opportunity,” I also flew in on time to prepare myself to give some great games to my fans in Bangladesh. Unfortunately, my NOC was not issued. Hence, I will not play any games.”
“I knew my team needed me. Hopefully, I will join them next year. I will miss playing the BPL.” – Mohammad Haris added.
