Zimbabwe will play a 5-match T20I series against Bangladesh, starting on May 03. The first three games will happen in Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram. Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka will host the last two T20Is.
Shakib al Hasan is unlikely to feature in all five games of the series. He is in the USA (United States of America) and is expected to return to Bangladesh by the end of this month. As per the reports, he will feature in a couple of games in the ongoing Dhaka Premier League for Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Cricket Club. The purpose of him playing these games is to prepare fully to take the load of international cricket.
Gazi Ashraf Hossain, BCB (Bangladesh Cricket Board) chief selector said he has communicated with Shakib al Hasan. He said Shakib, after playing a few games in DPL, will get involved with the team management where he can do practice according to the convenience. Gazi Ashraf Hossain also said they want Shakib to play a couple of games at the end of the Zimbabwe series.

Bangladesh cricket team will also play a three-match T20I series against the USA in the USA after Zimbabwe. Houston will host all three games on May 20, 22, and 24 respectively.
Mustafizur is likely to return on May 02
Not just Shakib al Hasan, Bangladesh will also miss the services of left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman, who is currently playing the IPL (Indian Premier League) for Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Mustafizur Rahman is expected to come on May 02. He will play his last game for CSK against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on May 01.
Gazi said Mustafizur will have to go through the screening of the Bangladesh medical team before they will try to understand where the pacer stands.

BCB has announced a squad for the preparation of Zimbabwe. The 17-member squad excludes the names of Shakib al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman.
