RR’s domination makes them a front-runner in the IPL 2024 playoffs
Rajasthan Royals (RR) might be the first team to qualify for the IPL 2024 playoffs. The way they are playing is good to watch for the fans.
RR might also finish at the top of the points table if they continue to do well. That will also give them two chances to qualify for the final.
KKR is on a roll right now
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) is also looking good for the IPL 2024 playoffs. Their combination looks perfect with both, the batting and bowling doing their jobs. They are also playing with aggressive intent as far as batting is concerned. The whole batting looks sorted for KKR. In the bowling as well, they have found players to do the job and a local talent, Harshit Rana has been phenomenal as well.
Been there, and done that before for CSK
They are one of the most successful franchises in IPL history. In this season, their campaign has been a roller coaster ride till now. CSK won the first two games, but then the next two. Then, again they won two back-to-back games before losing two back-to-back against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). But they won their last game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) quite convincingly by 78 runs.
Right now, CSK is at No. 3 in the points table with 5 wins in 9 games. CSK are firm-favourites to reach the top 4, just because they know how to do it.
SRH finds it difficult to chase, but surely a contender for the IPL 2024 playoffs
SRH took this IPL season by storm. They are the only team to score three 250+ scores in the IPL history. They have a very dangerous batting line-up that played with positive intent.
But they are finding it hard to chase targets as we saw in a few games. Also, their bowling unit looks a bit dicey as the batters give them a buffer of runs. Their bowling hasn’t been tested yet. And despite winning, they also conceded 240+ scores in some games.
3rd straight playoffs for LSG?
LSG reached the top 4 in both of the previous seasons. And this year as well, they have done well in patches. They have a team that can reach the playoffs. LSG are surely a team to look for in the IPL 2024 playoffs.
DC and GT are still in the hunt
Delhi Capitals (DC) and Gujarat Titans (GT) are still in the hunt to reach the playoffs. But their chances are lesser than the above five teams we have discussed. Right now, DC is at No. 6 in the points table with 5 wins in 11 games.
GT are also not looking as invincible as they were in the last two seasons. They have only won 4 games out of 10 as of now.
What about MI and PBKS?
Punjab Kings (PBKS) chances are looking bleak at the moment. Despite chasing down a record target in the IPL history, their team compositions don’t look great. Their regular captain, Shikhar Dhawan has been out for a while now. And their batters, despite Ashutosh Sharma and Shashank Sharma, are not performing well consistently.
We have seen Mumbai Indians (MI) coming back from behind and went on to win the title as well. But this year, things are not looking good for them.
No chance for RCB as well
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) hasn’t been up to the mark in IPL 2024. They only managed to win 3 games in 10 games they have played so far. Mathematically, they are not out of the tournament. But we can see that they are not coming to the IPL 2024 playoffs.

Who are the favourites for the IPL 2024 playoffs?
We have picked RR, KKR, CSK, and LSG as the favourites to reach the IPL 2024 playoffs. The first three are doing well and are at No. 1, 2, and 3 respectively in the table.
For LSG, we have picked them over SRH as they are looking more suited as a group. SRH’s bowling looks dicey and they haven’t figured out the chase game yet. So these 4 are favourites for the top 4 according to us.
